Stoner Cats NFTs: Mila and Ashton bringing NFTs to the Mainstream
Today is the day. After the viral video with Ashton and Mila talking about blockchain before revealing Vatalik to talk about Ethereum, the team announced (and quickly released) the Stone Cats NFT project. 13,420 NFTs that will be minted on Ethereum Blockchain at a price of .35. Currently there are a lot of strong opinions about the potential success or failure of the project, but the attention this project is receiving is undeniable.
Many questions exist around the Stoner Cats NFT Project including concerns about cashgrabs, altruism, and more. We are cautiously optimistic about this project given the strong set of talent including:
- Vitalik Buterin
- Mila Kunis
- Ashton Kutcher
- Seth Macfarlane
- Chris Rock
- Jane Fonda
The team described their manifesto and ends with this: ” this is Stoner Cats. It may only be a sweet small show about a woman and her cats, but maybe it will light the way for something very big to follow. Maybe the Stoner Cats are the thin edge of the wedge on a whole decentralized platform for passion projects. A way for a wildly talented emerging artist in Bangalore to fund her music video, and an independent animator in Oslo to unleash his most personal work. Or maybe it’s a way for massive stars to collaborate with fans on the stories they’re obsessed with.”
They describe the project and story for the cats:
In the before-times (aka pre-pandemic), three seasoned creators developed a little show called Stoner Cats. Once Mila Kunis and Orchard Farm Productions discovered it, they were immediately on board. Together they created a formidable team of Hollywood creatives, talented animators, tech and NFTs experts (including the brilliant minds behind CryptoKitties) to create and distribute Stoner Cats in a new, ground-breaking format.
