Motley Ds NFT Project

More than 1 “aha” moment, Motley Ds are the result of a sequence of events, all of them relevant, all of them important in their own right.   Initially Sergio, started looking at NFTs as part of his work in CleanGold, an initiative to promote the adoption of a stable coin backed by mining operations in Australia, and find a way to offer a custodial service of gold bars, bullion and coins using the ERC-721 standard.  Another foundational element of the Ds is the coming to the spotlight of Deep Fn Value, the now famous Redditor that almost took down Wall Street with sheer will power and a pack of Apes behind him, and obviously there are those Bored Apes, that are a cultural phenomena. Tip of the hat to the Degenerates, and the origin of the D.   That provides a little context around the formation of the core idea of the Motley Ds, but its purpose is what really drives the idea forward, at a time when we are ready to pack our bags, and depending on your income level, you either are looking to the stars or the “metaverse” for your next destination, the Motley Ds are here to question the nature and validity of the “reality” that is being forced upon us.  And in today’s social climate, there are very few spaces where you can challenge ideas without the threat of cancelation, and art is one of them.


What Makes this project unique? 

There are several elements that make the Ds unique, we are going to break them down to 3 core elements.

1. Utility: The Motley Ds are more than just collectibles, we will get to that in a moment, the Ds are a platform, that provide access to physical spaces. We are mixing the old with the new. The idea of “clubs” that are empowered by the blockchain, but that project the benefits to meet space, where, experiences are truly transformational.  And thus we developed the mobile app and we are in the process of releasing the lending platform.

 

2. Accrued Value: With almost all current NFT Collectible projects, the value is generally accrued by having early access to primary sales, to then make a profit from secondary markets.   The Ds bring about enhanced value creation, since the token represents access to real-life events that are coveted by a broader community, we will be creating demand for a scarce and completely limited resource, where those that can’t afford to buy one, may rent them, generating more value to the holder.

 

3. Art/Science: The Ds have a mission to bring to the forefront Meta-realist ideas and create a movement, that can put into context and frame the truly historical times we are living in.  Meta-realism is the result of the dichotomy between “subjectivism” and “materialism”. It proposes a critical view of reality that goes beyond the self as an individual entity and more of a collective force, that with the power of narrative can make or break institutions.  The Ds are irreverent beings that are here to shake things up and blow people’s minds away. Ds are not bored, they are not cool, nor baked, stoned or tripping out.  Ds are here with a mission and we are very happy to let our D take over.

Our team exists out of 3 Motleys.  Sergio who oversees the Production / Florus is our art director / Miquel oversees Operations.

There are several reasons, that are implied from the nature and scope of the project, but to put it into context, just the cover price for the events we have produced / sponsored is $300 USD.

Are there any mechanics we should know about? 

Not really, I guess there is one thing that is worth mentioning, the application is tied to the website, so if you want to use it, you need to link your Web3 wallet to your account so that we can then get your assets from the blockchain.
