Ether Rock launched on the ethereum blockchain and was a simple one. Pet rocks. A nod to the 70’s, this project offered no utility, aside the ability to trade, buy or sell. I was able to have a brief email exchange with their founder “John”. His interest in starting this project was to learn Solidity, Javascrip and experience web3. Prior to this endeavor, he was an amateur programmer. There was a bit of attention when Ether Rock first minted, however, the project stayed relatively quiet for the last 4 years, until recently.
The project has recently seen some incredibly high nft sales, with recent statistics touting 350 Eth and a reported ath of 888 Eth, according to their Ether Rock Price tracker on twitter. This sky rocket seemingly began around late summer of 2021, and has experienced a steady uwaprd climb since.
A total of 100 rocks were made available, and scarcity certainly has played a part in the recent mooning of this project. John has shared, while EtherRock.com will always exist, and the discord and twitter are relatively active, there are no future plans for Ether Rocks, and it will stay as it always has been.
