Largest Mobile-First Digital Collectibles Platform VeVe Partners with Layer-2 Protocol, Immutable X to Empower Carbon Neutral and Gasless NFT Minting and Marketplace on Ethereum

VeVe, the leading mobile-first digital collectible platform, announced a partnership with Immutable X, the first layer-2 scaling solution for carbon-neutral non-fungible tokens (NFTs) built on Ethereum. The collaboration paves the way for VeVe to scale its App from its current user base of 300,000 collectors and provide millions of everyday consumers seamless, secure and carbon-neutral experiences in the world of digital collectibles across all fandoms.
To date, there have been over half a million NFTs minted totaling over $30m in revenue on the Veve Platform. The transition to Ethereum is a huge move as it provides scale, better user experience, and minimizes the carbon impact on the environment. Immutable X was created by Immutable, the team behind one of Etherem’s highest-grossing trading card games, Gods Unchained. Immutable X teamed up with StarkWare, leading zero-knowledge proof provider, in order to provide instantaneous, gas-free transactions while retaining the security of Ethereum. Since its official Alpha marketplace launch in early April this year, Immutable X has proven to achieve scalability with up to 9,000+ trades per second.
We are excited that companies are starting to discuss the impact of the environment and energy cost associated with NFTs. The NFTCulture team has covered Veve for a while talking about their Batman drops, the Stay puft marshmellow man, back to the future, and the alleged Jurassic Park NFTs that may come in the future. THis drop is particularly exciting because of the high quality art that is coming with it. We are huge fans of this project and look forward to the drop! We have also recently discussed why DC was sending C&D orders to Nifty Gateway related to the boss logic drop and more. at the time it appeared they were just protecting IP but they’ve gone all in on NFTs, which is a good thing.
DC Cover Girls is a long-running line inspired by the powerful women of the DC Universe, that features dynamic depictions of the most famous superheroes and super-villains as premium statues, all based on art from the now-famous DC comics.
This first series release will also see the first appearance- ever- of these iconic characters in premium digital format!
