NVIDIA Officially Embraces the Metaverse via it’s Omniverse Software

Nvidia plans to distribute Free Copies of its Omniverse Software

Nvidia announced via Reuters that they are going to give their Omniverse software away to artists and creators to create virtual worlds for free.  This announcement follows companies like facebook, unity, and Unreal engine as the world begins focusing on the metaverse.

It appears that CES is going to be a massive focal point for NFTs this year.  Samsung has already teased an NFT marketplace via a partnership with nifty gateway.

Nvidia on Tuesday said it had reached deals with four such marketplaces – TurboSquid by Shutterstock (SSTK.N) , CGTrader, Sketchfab and Twinbru – to allow their marketplace content to show up in Nvidia’s Omniverse software suite. Nvidia also said that marketplaces Reallusion’s ActorCore, Daz3D and e-on software’s PlantCatalog will soon release their own Omniverse-ready assets.

Last year NVIDIA said their omniverse software would cost ~9,000 USD per year for corporations.

NVIDIA Omniverse is an easily extensible, open platform built for virtual collaboration and real-time physically accurate simulation. Creators, designers, researchers, and engineers can connect major design tools, assets, and projects to collaborate and iterate in a shared virtual space. Developers and software providers can also easily build and sell Extensions, Apps, Connectors, and Microservices on Omniverse’s modular platform to expand its functionality.
