Nina Chanel Abney is a talented artist who is making waves in the NFT (Non-Fungible Token) space. Her creativity and innovation are helping to celebrate the importance of Black artists in the art world. Nina’s latest project is a 5,000-piece NFT collection called “Nina’s Super Cool World” which was launched through GODA (Gallery of Digital Assets), an NFT marketplace for contemporary artists. The collection is unique as it was constructed with hand-crafted elements, similar to what can be seen in her traditional art, such as cartoonish figures, bold color planes, overlapping shapes, scattered letters, numbers and symbolic objects. This new approach to her career provides a new way for fans and collectors to be involved in her work.
Nina’s paintings, which are a combination of representation and abstraction, reflect the fast-paced nature of contemporary culture and address a range of subjects including race, celebrity, religion, politics, art history and more. Her work has been included in collections globally, including the Brooklyn Museum, The Rubell Family Collection, Bronx Museum and the Burger Collection in Hong Kong.
GODA is a platform founded by a group of individuals including Nina Chanel Abney, Pharrell Williams, Todd Kramer and J1mmy.Eth, among others. It aims to be an educational and empowering resource for both artists and collectors, and to provide a platform for artists to explore the NFT and digital space.
