Timed to World Water Day on March 22nd, 1024 water-themed NFTs will drop on Art Blocks for collectors to choose from, with all proceeds going to Water.org
The Drop Artois was organized in partnership with VaynerNFT, the consultancy under the umbrella of the VaynerX holding company founded by serial entrepreneur and chairman Gary Vaynerchuk.
In celebration of World Water Day on March 22nd, a day that raises awareness of the two billion people living without access to safe water, Stella Artois is announcing The Drop Artois, a new generative art NFT project in partnership with Water.org. The Drop Artois, which will be hosted on Art Blocks’ generative art platform starting tomorrow, will feature 1024 beautifully designed water-themed NFTs for art collectors to choose from, with all proceeds going to Water.org to help provide people in the developing world with access to safe water.
“We’re incredibly excited about the impact we will make with The Drop Artois,” said Tim Ovadia, Global Vice President, Stella Artois. “As a longstanding partner of Water.org, we are always looking for innovative ways to help people around the world gain safe water access for their homes and families. By tapping into the world of NFTs and offering art collectors access to limited edition digital collectibles as part of The Drop Artois, we are using technology to support our communities and be a positive vehicle for change.”
Avery Akkineni, President of VaynerNFT: “The Drop Artois is such a special NFT moment, bringing together an emerging art medium and an iconic brand, to benefit an incredible cause for a first-ever partnership. We are thrilled to play a small part in contributing to Water.org’s mission, via Stella Artois and Art Blocks.”
The Drop Artois will feature NFTs depicting the contemplative effect of moving water, including waves that rise and fall, a flow field powered mist and droplet shapes arranged in a dancing field that are distorted in rhythmic and stormy animation. To design the NFT project which will be listed on Art Blocks under Liquid Ruminations, Stella partnered with emerging artist Eliya Stein, who is known for his work, including Prismatic in which he explored color, refraction and interaction; Labyrometry depicting a labyrinth of geometric specters; Incantation, capturing ancient runes; and Gravity Grid, inspired by a 2500-year-old board game. In determining which platform made the most sense for the drop, Stella turned to Art Blocks for its widespread admiration in the generative art world. The Drop Artois marks the first time that Art Blocks has ever partnered with a brand to host a drop on its platform.
“At Art Blocks, accessibility, equity, and charity have always been core to our business, which is why we are thrilled to collaborate with Stella Artois and Water.org on this initiative,” said Erik Calderon, CEO of Art Blocks. “Through our platform, we have been able to give back to hundreds of charities around the world and the opportunity to work with Stella Artois on this project helps us increase that reach in a meaningful and impactful way. Ultimately crypto and art are in a unique position to provide economic empowerment to communities that are largely left out of this technological wave.”
With water as a key foundation to all of Stella’s brews, Stella has been a longstanding partner of Water.org since 2015. The brand has supported Water.org to help provide access to safe water to more than three million people in the developing world.
“The reality is millions of people around the world don’t have access to safe water at home. For the past six years, Stella Artois has partnered with Water.org to help change this. We are thrilled to continue our efforts together to get safe water into the homes and hands of more families in need around the world,” said Lina Bonova, Chief Revenue Officer, Water.org.
