Women Rise-What’s Next
In an exciting turn of events over the last month, a few incredible female led projects found themselves sold out. This came as a surprise to some, as a number of them originally minted in 2021, to few sales.
Girls Riding Things, Rebel Society are two notable projects whose creators remained connected, passionate and even after a post mint lull – remained optimistic The spotlight shone at the right moment in time and these female-led projects found themselves amongst the trending collections on Icy Tools.
With less than 20% of the nft space being made up of women, little shifts in this make a huge difference. Female celebrities have come into the space, guns blazing, ready to support women. The influencer status support has been incredible.
As a fellow female creator and contributor in the space, I find this news incredibly exciting, yet I feel it begs the question “What’s next”.
In a space truly fit for all, there is ample room for all sorts of creators. Often under-represented are the BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, neurodiverse and disabled communities. With so much room for growth, a beautiful starting point comes from @FlynnKristina. She has composed a thoughtful list on twitter, including creators who fall into the Black,Brown, LGBTQIA+, neurodiverse & persons with disabilities. You can check it out here. Incredible work from incredible creators, and it feels like the spacious arena of web3 has room for all. As always, do your own research and happy hunting.
